Read on for more!

What Causes This Error?

First of all, we need to determine what causes this error to fix it. Here are some examples:

Incorrect Clock – The date and time are incorrectly set.

Broken Processes – Sometimes, a running, broken process causes a Ubisoft service to become unavailable. Ending these may resolve the issue.

Hamachi – Some users who were faced with this error reported that it disappeared as soon as they uninstalled Hamachi from their computer.

IPv6 – Sometimes the issue lies with IP address configuration. If this is the case, you will need to switch to IPv4 to solve the problem.

Issues With The Network – Sometimes network issues can cause the error. Luckily, this is easily solvable in many different ways!

How To Fix The Ubisoft Service Error

There are many different ways to solve the issue of an unavailable Ubisoft service. Let’s look at a few examples!

1

Changing The Date And Time On Your PC

If the date and time are wrong, then Uplay and Ubisoft online services may not run. Here’s how to fix this!

Step

1

Changing The Date And Time On Your PC

If the date and time are wrong, then Uplay and Ubisoft online services may not run. Here’s how to fix this!

    1. Open the “start menu”, and from there open your Windows 10 Settings.
    2. If this is not an option, you can use the combination of Windows key + I Key which will directly open the settings.
    3. Once you have opened the settings, open “Time & Language.”
    4. Go to the “Date & Time” section.
    5. Check that the date and time are correct.
    6. If the date is incorrect, tap on the drop-down menu option and select the correct date.
    7. If the time is incorrect, tap on the “Time” option and select the correct time.

Step

2

This Should Fix Any Issues

This should fix any issues you are having with your Ubisoft services! However, if it does not, then you can try this alternative:

    1. Open the control panel
    2. Once opened, scroll to find the date and time tab
    3. Once you have located the date and time tab, you can click the “Change” option and go ahead and change them so they are correct.

2

Ending Faulty Processes

You can go into your task manager to end the faulty process, which should get your Ubisoft services up and running again. In ProgramData, there is a broken file that is part of Ubisoft, and when it becomes corrupt, it will stop many users from accessing the services. This is how you can end it:

Step

1

Open An Ubisoft Game

Open an Ubisoft game or Uplay and wait for the error message to appear.

Step

2

Press The Control + Shift + Escape Keys

Press the Control + Shift + Escape keys at the same time to open the task manager (You can also use Control + Alt + Delete to do this)

Step

3

More Details

Once inside the task manager, press “more details”. This will expand the task manager.

Step

4

Go To Processes

Go to “processes” and scroll until you find “background processes”.

Step

5

Search For The Broken Process File

Search for the broken process file. It will consist of lots of random letters, some capitalized, and some not.

3

Uninstalling Hamachi

As previously mentioned, having Hamachi installed on your computer will sometimes cause Uplay to stop working, and thus Ubisoft will stop working, too. Uninstalling Hamachi normally solves the problem, here’s how to do it!

Step

1

Press The Start menu Button And Open The Control Panel

Press the “Start menu” button and open the control panel. If you are using Windows 10, you can click the “cog” icon, which will open the settings.

Step

2

Once You Are Inside The Control Panel

Once you are inside the control panel, click “View as – Category” which you will find in the top right-hand corner.

Step

3

Now Go To The Programs Section

Now, go to the Programs section and click “Uninstall a Program”

Step

4

However If You Are Inside Your Settings

However, if you are inside your “Settings”, then you can click on “Apps” and you should see all of the installed programs on the computer.

Step

5

Find Hamachi

Find “Hamachi” and uninstall it.

Step

6

Once It Has Been Uninstalled

Once it has been uninstalled, click “Finish” and restart your computer.
Now, the errors should have been fixed, and you can boot up your Ubisoft services!

4

Disabling IPv6

Many users have reported that this has solved the issues they have experienced with their Ubisoft services. Here’s how to do it:

Step

1

First Type Windows + R

First, type “Windows + R” and wait for the “Run dialog” box to open.

Step

2

Then Type ncpa.cpl

then, type “ncpa.cpl” into the bar.

Step

3

Once You Have Done This Click OK

Once you have done this, click “OK”. This will open your internet connection settings in the Control Panel.

Step

4

Now Double Click The Network Adapter

Now, double click the Network Adapter.

Step

5

Once You Have Completed The Step Above

Once you have completed the step above, click “Properties” and find the “Internet Protocol Version 6” entry.

Step

6

Now Disable The Checkbox

Now, disable the checkbox and click “OK”

Step

7

Finally Restart Your Computer

Finally, restart your computer.
This should fix the Ubisoft service issues!

5

Change Your IP And DNS Addresses

Both the DNS service and the IP address will change over time, and while this normally does not cause a problem, some users have reported that assigning static addresses will resolve a Ubisoft service error. Here’s how to do it!

Step

1

Open The Command Prompt

Open the command prompt.

Step

2

Type In ‘Ipconfig All’

Type in “ipconfig / all” and find the network adapter that corresponds with the connection you are currently on.

Step

3

Make A Note Of The MAC

Make a note of the MAC, Subnet Mask, DNS, and Default Gateway.

Step

4

Now Use Windows + R

Now, use “Windows + R” to open the Run dialog box.

Step

5

Next Type ‘ncpa.pl’ Into The Bar

Next, type “ncpa.pl” into the bar.

Step

6

Hit “OK” And Then Go To Your Control Panel

Hit “OK” and then go to your control panel to open your internet connection settings.

Step

7

Click The Network Adapter

Click the network adapter and go into “Properties”

Step

8

Find “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”

Select it and click the “Properties” button that appears.

Step

9

Remain In The General Tab

While remaining in the “General” tab, you need to switch the radio button (which you can find in the properties window) to the option “Use the following DNS server address”, and then use 8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Step

10

Now, you need to swap to “Use the following IP address”

Step

11

Remember The Note You Took For The Default Gateway

You need to use that number here. However, you must change the last digit after the period to something else.

Step

12

Add required information

Go ahead and fill out the other information as normal (The DNS, etc).

6

Fix The Networking Issues

A lot of the time, networking issues are system-related. These problems usually happen within the system files, and the best way to resolve them is to run a system file checker (also known as an SFC).

Not only will this scan your files, but it may replace or repair them, too.
Here’s how to do it!

Step

1

How To Scan for Corrupt or Missing Files With The SFC

1. First, you need to look for the “command prompt”.
2. Right-click it and click “run as administrator”.
3. Now, type in the following, taking care to hit “enter” after each respective command:
4. sfc / scannow
5. Then, wait for the “operations completed successfully” message.
6. Now, all you need to do is try to restart your computer.

Step

2

Network Reset

Sometimes, all that’s left to do is perform a network reset. This should be your last resort once you have tried the other methods, to no avail.
Here’s how to perform a network reset:

1. Use “Windows + R” to open the run dialog.
2. There will be a newly opened box, and you need to type in “ms-settings:” here.
3. Now, hit “OK” and open “Settings”.
4. In your settings, scroll to the “Network” reset button, and click it.
5. All you need to do now is follow the instructions to perform the network reset.

Hopefully, this will have resolved your Ubisoft service error and you can go back to playing the night away!

Final Thoughts

Coming face-to-face with a Ubisoft service error is inconvenient, but hopefully, these tips will help resolve the issues so you can get your games up and running in no time!
